Mercer Rotary plans annual radio auction

MERCER, Pa. — The Mercer Rotary will present its Second Annual Radio Auction from 9 a.m. to noon March 29 on WPIC 790 AM. Listeners can tune in and call (724) 662-5100 or (724) 662-5104 to bid on a variety of items, including fitness club memberships, auto repairs, restaurant certificates and a hot-air balloon ride.

Purchased items may be picked up at the Mercer Area High School on West Butler Street in Mercer until 2 p.m.

Women’s History event will honor 4 from Valley

YOUNGSTOWN — Outstanding women in the Mahoning Valley will be recognized when Lisa Antonini and the Mahoning County Democratic Party host a Women’s History Month appreciation event at 5:30 p.m. March 27 at the Youngstown Club, 201 E. Commerce St.

The cost for the event is $15 per person.

Honorees will include Claire Maluso, retired Youngstown Federal Plaza director and community activist; Carol Rimedio-Righetti, 4th Ward councilwoman and community activist; Anne Vross, party volunteer and president of Canfield Women’s Club; and Edna Pincham, former Youngstown School Board member and community activist.

The Ohio Democratic Party is planning its 2008 State Convention and the second annual Women’s Luncheon for May 10.
