Children were endangered at shooting scene
NEW CASTLE, Pa. — City police are investigating a shooting that endangered five children and three adults in a house on Reynolds Street.
Police went to the area of Dushane and Reynolds streets at 1:07 a.m. Monday after a caller told 9-1-1 about hearing six or seven shots. They found a bullet hole through the front porch of the house and shell casings in the street and in the yard.
Two adults and four children were asleep upstairs at the time of the shooting.
One woman and her son were asleep in a back room downstairs. Police said they found a bullet lodged between the walls of the front and back rooms downstairs. The children who were in the house were three boys ages 10, 8 and 2; and two girls ages 11 and 3.
