Yankush family celebrates couple’s 60th anniversary

X BOARDMAN — Mr. and Mrs. Peter Yankush of Boardman celebrated their 60th wedding anniversary March 9 at a dinner party at Tippecanoe Country Club in Canfield, where they are members.

The couple’s children, Dr. Tom Yankush of Canfield, Diane Yankush Shattuck of Boardman, and Jim and Laura Yankush of North Lima, issued invitations for the festivity. The Yankushes have six grandchildren: Krista, Mallory, Robby, Tommy, Ryan and Kelsey.

Mr. Yankush and the former Tina Kolunie were married March 14, 1948, at St. George Greek Orthodox Church in New Castle, Pa. They are members of St. Nicholas Greek Orthodox Church in Youngstown.

Mr. Yankush was president of Youngstown Microfilm Co., where Mrs. Yankush was secretary-treasurer. They retired in 1990.

Mr. Yankush was an aviation cadet with the U.S. Army Air Corps during World War II.
