Community Foundation adds seven new funds

YOUNGSTOWN — The Community Foundation of the Mahoning Valley has established seven new funds.

Funds have been established by the Big Reach Center for Hope and the Millcreek Children’s Center to support operating and capital needs within those agencies. The Boardman Township Park 60th Anniversary Capital Campaign Fund was established to provide funds for the construction of the Boardman Township Park 60th Anniversary Capital Campaign projects. Additional contributions to these funds will be accepted by the foundation in any amount and may be made as memorials or in honor of a person or event.

In addition, the Nancy W. Bruce R. Beeghly Family Fund, the Suzanne Al Fleming Family Fund, the Ricchiuti Family Fund, and E. Jeffrey Carol A. Rossi Family Foundation have been established. These four new Donor Advised Funds have been created to provide funds for charitable programs and organizations.

C G changes name to add graphic focus

NORTH LIMA — C G Signs and Carts, 10260 Market St., has changed its name and expanded operations. The new name is C G Carts and Graphics, which is designed to reinforce its graphics business.

Owners Dennis and Denise Christensen have expanded operations to include a newly remodeled showroom, trailer sales, a 20-fleet golf cart rental service and a used cart sale lot. A ribbon-cutting event will be April 11.

C G began operations in 1990 as Calligraphy and Graphics Sign Co. In 2004, the company moved to its present location and diversified its operations to include golf cart sales and service. The graphics business has also expanded to include signs, vehicle wraps and apparel.

Charley’s Grilled Subs opens Belmont location

YOUNGSTOWN — Chris Smallwood has opened a Charley’s Grilled Subs franchise at 3219 Belmont Ave., a former Burger King restaurant that had been closed since 2006. Based in Columbus, Charley’s Grilled Subs has more than 340 locations in 39 states and 10 countries.

Meal preparation store to open in Hermitage

HERMITAGE, Pa. — Martha Lilly is opening Make Take Gourmet, a meal preparation store, March 26 at 3366 E. State St. Make and Take Gourmet develops monthly menus, shops, prepares all necessary ingredients and provides a fun atmosphere. Customers log onto the company’s Web site or call the store to reserve a session time and choose their desired meals. Customers can choose to go in and assemble their meals or have them made for pickup. The store also has ready-to-go side dishes and signature dishes pre-made for customer pickup. The phone number is (724) 981-6151. Make Take was started by advertising executive Michele Bellso in Cicero, N.Y., in 2006. The local franchise is the company’s 15th store.

Job interviewers make bad impression

NEW YORK — When it comes to interviews, job seekers aren’t the only ones who should worry about making a good impression. Two out of three applicants turns down a job offer as a result of an interviewer’s bad behavior, according to Rich Wellins, senior vice president of Development Dimensions International, a global HR consulting firm. DDI conducted a survey with job Web site Monster.com.
