MERCER COUNTY Sentencings


Judges in Mercer County Common Pleas Court sentenced these people to prison, jail or gave them probation:

Darryl Burnett, 43, of Laird Avenue, Wheatland, sentenced to the state Intermediate Punishment Program for two years for felony retail theft. On June 12, 2007, he stole two bottles of rum valued at $27 from a store in Sharon. The charge is a felony because it is his third or subsequent offense.

Trivoune Craig, 20, of Roemer Boulevard, Farrell, sentenced to one to six months in jail for theft by unlawful taking and possession of drug paraphernalia, both misdemeanors. He was ordered to make restitution and given credit for 150 days already served. On June 22, 2007, police arrested him at a Sharon residence with $150 belonging to another person. He also had a small amount of marijuana on him Aug. 13, 2007, when arrested again in Sharon.

Cody Kostra, 18, of South Mercer Street, Greenville, sentenced to one to 12 months in jail and 30 days of unsupervised probation, and ordered to make restitution for misdemeanor theft from a motor vehicle. On Aug. 15, 2007, he took compact discs, money, watches, DVDs and other items worth a total of $800 from a parked vehicle in Greenville.

Madeline Perdian, 221, of Maple Drive, Hermitage, placed on two years’ probation and given 40 days’ credit for time already served for misdemeanor retail theft. She stole $137 worth of clothing from a Hermitage store Jan. 22, 2007.

George Phillips III, 18, formerly of Ravine Place, Sharon, sentenced to 11 to 23 months followed by two years’ probation for felony robbery and misdemeanor simple assault. He was given credit for 348 days served. On March 21, 2007, he and three other juveniles robbed, beat and kicked a man at New Castle Avenue and Morrison Street, Sharon. The victim’s injuries required hospital treatment.

Larry Priester Jr., 24, formerly of Sandy Lake, sentenced to 20 to 60 months in prison and ordered to make restitution for felony burglary. He was recommended boot camp eligible. He was given credit for 708 days already served and ordered to make restitution. He broke into a Sandy Lake home Aug. 12, 2007, and stole a computer and miscellaneous items valued at a total $5,000.

Noah Proud, 32, formerly of Upland Drive, New Castle, sentenced to six to 23 months Intermediate Punishment Program/House Arrest and ordered to make restitution for misdemeanor retail theft. He stole $10 worth of gasoline from Sheetz, 2381 S. Hermitage Road, on Jan. 15, 2007. The charge is a felony because it is his third or subsequent offense.

Donovan White, 22, of Fruit Avenue, Farrell, sentenced to four days to one year in jail for misdemeanor disorderly conduct. He threw a woman to the ground and choked her and also choked a 9-year-old boy at a Sharon home July 29, 2007.
