Easter Seals Angels will put fashions forward

BOARDMAN — The Angels of Easter Seals is planning its 31st Annual Spring Luncheon and Style Show, “Boutique Fashion Showcase 2008,” featuring local press professionals and Easter Seals children.

The event will take place April 10 at Mr. Anthony’s 7440 South Ave. A social hour at 10:30 a.m. precedes the luncheon at 11:30, a.m., and the fashion show follows. A special guest will be Bishop George Murry of the Catholic Diocese of Youngstown, who will give the invocation.

Spring and summer fashions for 2008 include selections by local retailers: Boutique 1111, Children’s Loft, Kegelles, Kolby’s, La Ti Da, Mi Lady Shoppe, Possessions, Rondinelli Tuxedo, and Suzanne’s Tennis and Golf Connection. A special feature will be designs from the 2008 runway collection of Nanette Lepore, a Youngstown native. A few of her fashions will be for sale after the show, which is being coordinated by Sue Swick of Canfield.

For the 14th consecutive year, Bianca Severino, a former Easter Seals Poster Child, and Stan Boney from WYTV will walk on stage together.

Hairstyles and makeup for the models will be done courtesy of Casal’s de Spa Salon of Canfield.

Raffle prizes will include $1,000, mall gift certificates and a Kate Spade purse. Raffle tickets may be bought from any Angel or by calling the Easter Seals Center at (330) 743-1168.

A Chinese auction will feature gift certificates, food baskets, gift baskets, a Waterford vase and evening purses, and a 50-50 auction.
