Bee Live: Spellers quietly wait at 8:30

It's just 8:30 a.m., the "official" opening time for registration for the 75th annual Vindicator Regional Spelling Bee in Kilcawley Center at Youngstown State University, and more than 40 of the 70 spellers in this year's event have already taken their seats.
Most are sitting quietly,apparently deep in thought, but some are chatting with their neighbors.
John Umble from Willow Creek Learning Center, last year's Grand Champion, is here and ready to go again. He'll have some stiff competition. All 70 spellers are school champions.
