YSU faculty, university reach tentative contract agreement
YOUNGSTOWN — Youngstown State University has reached a tentative agreement on a new contract with its 380-member faculty union.
Negotiators for the university and the Ohio Education Association wrapped up talks this week.
Bargaining began in September and took on a far more amicable tone than negotiations three years ago which were marred by a strike in the summer of 2005 that ended with a settlement just before classes started.
Terms of the new contract won’t be released until after both the faculty and Board of Trustees ratify the agreement.
The faculty will be briefed on the details at a March 26 meeting and vote sometime later. The Trustees are expected to review the agreement and vote sometime later this month.
