Vending machine robber gets probation

YOUNGSTOWN — A suspect in the robbery of Courtney Vending on East Indianola Avenue last Sept. 14 has been sentenced to three years’ probation, fined $1,000 and court costs, and required to perform 300 hours of community service and maintain full-time employment.

Judge Timothy E. Franken of Mahoning Court Common Pleas Court imposed the sentence today on Nathaniel Austin Jr., 19, of Cedar Lane, who had pleaded guilty to two counts of aggravated robbery.

The other defendant in the case, Delano Savage, 26, of East Auburndale Avenue, drew a 10-year prison term Tuesday after pleading guilty to three counts of aggravated robbery and four counts of kidnapping with gun specifications.
