NBA Roundup for Tuesday’s other games
Wizards 105, Bucks 97
WASHINGTON — Antawn Jamison scored 23 points, rookie Nick Young had a career-high 22, and the Washington Wizards rallied in the fourth quarter. The victory moved Washington, eager to hold onto sixth place in the Eastern Conference, 11⁄2 games ahead of charging Philadelphia. Michael Redd scored 26 points, Andrew Bogut had 23, and Charlie Villanueva had 24 points and matched a season high with 16 rebounds for the Bucks, who lost for the sixth time in seven games with another lackluster defensive performance.
Pacers 114, SuperSonics 107
INDIANAPOLIS — Mike Dunleavy scored 32 points and the Indiana Pacers snapped a three-game losing streak and sent the Seattle SuperSonics to their fifth straight loss.
Danny Granger added 23 points, Troy Murphy had 19 points and nine rebounds and Travis Diener had 11 points and nine assists for the Pacers. Kevin Durant scored 27 points and reserve Nick Collison added 15 points and eight rebounds for the Sonics.
Trail Blazers 103, Timberwolves 96
MINNEAPOLIS — Brandon Roy continues to haunt the Minnesota Timberwolves and keep Portland’s dimming playoff hopes alive. Roy had 27 points and nine assists, playing biggest during a game-deciding 12-2 run in the fourth quarter to lift Portland. The Timberwolves drafted Roy in the first round two years ago, but traded him to the Blazers for Randy Foye and cash on draft night. Foye missed the first half of this season with a knee injury, and Roy was rookie of the year last year and has been even better in his second season. Al Jefferson scored 12 of his 20 points in the fourth and Rashad McCants had 18 off the bench for the Timberwolves, who hovered around 55 percent shooting for most of the game but couldn’t come up with the big shot down the stretch. Roy struggled with his shot for the first three quarters, but got to the basket at will in the fourth to rally the Blazers. LaMarcus Aldridge added 20 points and James Jones had 13 off the bench. Jefferson had a tough time with Portland’s attacking double-team, but he scored six points during an 8-2 spurt midway through the fourth quarter to give Minnesota a 90-85 lead.
