March 4

Theft: Two Youngstown girls, 15 and 17, were charged with theft and complicity to theft, respectively, after a pair of jeans was stolen from Sears in the Southern Park Mall.

Theft by deception: An employee with a Market Street bank found out someone, through deceptive means, withdrew or cashed a series of checks totaling more than $35,000 at various branches before a stop-payment order was issued.

Theft: A man, 19, and a 51-year-old woman, both of Warren, faced felony charges of theft and receiving stolen property after a worker for a U.S. Route 224 doctor’s office reported six pairs of eyeglasses stolen. The theft came to about $1,000.

Criminal damaging: A vehicle’s passenger-side window was broken at a Market Street business.

Theft/misuse of a credit card: An East Liverpool man reported his automated-teller-machine/debit card stolen, and that it was used without consent to make five ATM transactions in or near the township.

Criminal damaging: All four of a car’s tires were slashed in the 7400 block of West Boulevard, for a damage estimate of $500.

Criminal damaging: A vehicle in the 100 block of Ridgewood Drive sustained $300 worth of damage after someone used a pellet gun to cause the damage.

Auto theft: A 2005 Ford Taurus was stolen from an East Western Reserve Road business.

Theft: A Youngstown man, 37, faced two theft counts, accused of stealing three cases as well as four 18-packs of beer from a Boardman-Poland Road gas station.

March 5

Arrest: A Youngstown woman, 22, faced two counts of telecommunications harassment after being accused of threatening on a cell phone to harm a Boardman woman.

Theft/drugs: A woman, 19, and a 27-year-old man, both of Youngstown, were charged, accused in the theft of $205.53 worth of merchandise from Wal-Mart, 1300 Doral Drive. The man also faced a felony charge of trafficking in marijuana as well as a misdemeanor count of drug abuse (marijuana) after police said he had 14 individually packaged bags of suspected marijuana.

Theft: Officers arrested a 44-year-old Youngstown man on charges of theft and obstructing official business after a $20 wristwatch was stolen from Sears. He also provided a false name, authorities said.

Drug paraphernalia: Police responded to a possible suicide at a West Boulevard apartment, where they charged a 22-year-old man with possession of drug paraphernalia after saying they saw a suspected crack pipe on a table.

Bad check: A worker for a South Avenue business told police a Warren company requested payment on a $538 business check later determined to be phony.

Theft: A Forest Lake Drive man reported a medical prescription was removed from a canvas bag in his vehicle.

Theft: Two people took an undetermined item from Kmart, 1209 Boardman-Poland Road.

Theft/criminal damaging: A Ewing Road man found on his vehicle a broken passenger-side window, and reported a satellite radio missing.

March 6

Identity theft: A West Boulevard woman reported getting a letter from a credit card company stating she had a $1,208.44 balance. Someone apparently opened an account in her name, she reported.

Criminal damaging: A Lemans Drive man found a broken rear vent window on his car.

Robbery: Police took custody of a 32-year-old Youngstown woman wanted on charges of robbery and theft. She was accused of taking a gold necklace from a Southern Park Mall kiosk and striking an employee with her vehicle while trying to flee.

Theft: A motorist pumped $46.28 worth of gasoline and left a Shell True North station, 7598 Market St., without paying.

Theft: An undisclosed amount of money was missing from Quizno’s, 7105 Lockwood Blvd.

March 7

Theft: A Youngstown boy, 17, accused of taking a $30 pair of shoes from Gabriel Bros., 850 Boardman-Poland Road, was charged.

Theft: A Boardman woman’s $110 cell phone was stolen while she shopped at the Southern Park Mall.

March 8

Theft: Twelve people left Denny’s Restaurant, 154 Boardman-Canfield Road, and failed to pay food bills totaling $122.70

Theft: A 36-year-old New Springfield man was charged after $70 worth of DVDs was stolen from Sears.

Domestic violence: A 41-year-old Shadyside Drive man faced a felony domestic-violence charge after his girlfriend alleged he threw a radio at her, choked the accuser and threatened to kill her during an argument.

Theft: A 21-year-old Youngstown woman was charged, accused in the theft of $160 worth of clothing from the J.C. Penney store in the Southern Park Mall.

Theft: A Washington Boulevard man reported two tires and four tires with rims stolen from his home.

Drug paraphernalia: A Boardman man, 31, was charged with possession of drug paraphernalia when police said they found a suspected crack pipe after pulling over a vehicle in the 400 block of Boardman-Canfield Road.

March 9

Weapon: A Boardman man, 47, was charged with carrying a concealed weapon after officers responded to a report that someone with a knife at a U.S. Route 224 eatery might be preparing to attack a group of people with it.

Theft: A motorist pumped and failed to pay for $25.25 worth of gasoline before leaving a Shell True North station, 1510 Boardman-Canfield Road.

Misuse of a credit card: A Westport Circle man discovered $2,284.75 worth of charges to his debit card that neither he nor his wife made.

Theft: A Poland woman’s cell phone was stolen while she was at a Doral Drive store.

Theft/criminal damaging: A West Boulevard man’s vehicle’s window was damaged, and four compact discs were stolen.BIRTHS
