Selina Hughes, Corey Cotton set May wedding date

X YOUNGSTOWN — Selina Hughes, 1339 Miami St., and Corey Cotton, 636 Laclede Court, are engaged and plan to marry in May.

The bride-to-be is the daughter of Lynda Hughes-Bowman of the Miami Street address, Floyd Hughes of Youngstown, and James Simon of Youngstown. The prospective groom is the son of Ora Ella Cotton of Youngstown and James Leroy Watson of Youngstown.

The couple’s open wedding will take place at 2 p.m. May 24 at New Hope Baptist Church, 437 Albert St., and invitations will be issued for an evening reception at the Mahoning Country Club in Girard.

Miss Hughes is a graduate of Youngstown State University with a bachelor’s degree in secondary education-English. She is employed as an English teacher at Chaney High School. She also has a cosmetology license as a managing manicurist and nail technician.

Mr. Cotton is pursuing a master’s degree in community counseling at YSU. He holds a bachelor’s degree in psychology from YSU and is employed there as a graduate assistant. He is also employed as minister of music at New Hope Baptist Church.
