HOWLAND — Kathryn Shroder, a Howland psychologist, was elected president of the state board of psychology. She was appointed to the regulatory panel by former Gov. Bob Taft in 2003. The board is responsible for regulating the practice of psychology in Ohio through examinations, licensing, education and enforcement.
Council is accepting
nominations for award
YOUNGSTOWN — The Regional Chamber’s Mahoning Valley Safety Council is accepting nominations for the second annual Joan Kovach Safety Leadership Award, recognizing a company that has shown itself to be a leader in safety training, operations, funding and communications.
The award is named in honor of Joan Kovach, who together with her husband, Michael J. Kovach Jr., founded City Machine Technologies in Youngstown. She died in a hiking accident July 16, 2006.
Nominees may be from private, nonprofit or public sectors but must be a MVSC member and in good standing with the Ohio Bureau of Workers’ Compensation. Nominations will be accepted until March 31. The nomination form may be found on the MVSC Web page on the chamber’s Web site at www.regionalchamber.com/safetycouncil.htm.

YOUNGSTOWN — The Method 8 Corp. is a newly established professional guidance counseling and resource center in downtown Youngstown. YOUNGSTOWN — Brenner Industrial Sales & Supply has joined the world’s largest bearing and power transmission cooperative, IDC-USA. The company was established in 1926 by Paul Brenner.
Established in 1988, the IDC–USA is a member-owned purchasing and national marketing cooperative of independent distributors of industrial bearing, power transmission and industry related products. The cooperative consists of over 225 independent distribution locations in 42 states and over $1 billion in annual sales. It is based in Indianapolis.
