Sentencings
Judges in Mercer County Common Pleas Court sentenced these people to jail, prison or gave them probation. Case summaries are from court records:
Gabriel Bonish, 47, of Pa. Route 168, Georgetown, placed on a one-year probation for theft by deception. Court documents state that on May 12, 2004, he intentionally obtained cattle valued at $3,193 from the New Wilmington Livestock Auction, Pa. Route 158, Wilmington Township, by writing a check on a closed account.
Emmanuel Burris, 20, of Cleveland, sentenced to 105 days to two years in jail for firearms not to be carried without a license, a misdemeanor. He was given credit for 105 days already served. On May 4, 2006, he was stopped on Interstate 80, East Lackawannock Township, for traffic and had a 40-caliber firearm in the trunk.
Thomas Cooper Jr., 19, of Virginia Road, Hermitage, fined $2,100 and placed on two years’ probation for selling or furnishing liquor or malt or brewed beverages to minors and purchase consumption, possession or transportation of liquor or malt or brewed beverages. He furnished alcohol at a December 2006 party in Hermitage which minors attended.
Cierra Harrison, 20, of Hall Avenue, Sharon, placed on two years’ probation for five misdemeanor counts of recklessly endangering another person. On April 21, 2007, she repeatedly tried to run another woman over in the 300 block of Sterling Avenue, Sharon, with a car. In the process, she nearly struck four other women and struck several parked cars.
Tisha Jones, 31, of Cleveland, placed on three years’ probation for disorderly conduct and resisting arrest. On Aug. 6, 2006, Jones approached a woman on New Castle Avenue, Sharon, with a 5-inch knife and said she was going to cut her throat. When a Sharon police officer tried to arrest her, she tried to pull away from him and dug her fingernails into his shin.
James Randolph, 22, of Millbrook Road, Jackson Center, sentenced to three to 23 months in the Mercer County Jail for receiving stolen property, a felony. He had a $59,000 John Deere Excavator which had been stolen from Elder’s Sales and Service, 191 Johnston Road, New Vernon Township, on June 5, 2007.
Lamar Wilder, 28, of Fruit Avenue, Farrell, sentenced to time already served and paroled for misdemeanor escape. Wilder failed to return to the Mercer County Jail on May 5, 2007, from a temporary furlough granted to attend school.
James Zec, 22, of Taylor Avenue, Sharon, sentenced to 14 days to 23 months in jail for corrupting the morals of minors, a misdemeanor. Zec had indecent contact with a 15-year-old girl Oct. 14, 2007, at a Farrell residence.
