Columbiana County receives federal grant
LISBON — Columbiana County has been awarded $78,421 in federal funds under the Emergency Food and Shelter National Board Program, according to Ginger Grilli, chairwoman of the Columbiana Emergency Food and Shelter program.
The funding was made by a national board chaired by the Federal Emergency Management Agency that included representatives of the Salvation Army, American Red Cross, and other major charities.
The local board decided the funds will be used for food, rent and mortgage assistance to prevent foreclosure, and payment of utilities to prevent disconnection. Qualifying agencies may get applications by calling (330) 337-7225.
Applications will be accepted only in printed form and must be received by noon March 24. They may be mailed or delivered to: Columbiana County EFSP c/o Columbiana County Department of Job and Family Services, 110 Nelson St., Lisbon, Ohio 44432. Applications that are not received by the deadline and/or incomplete applications will not be considered. Funding will not be announced until April or later.
