Due to weather, Youngstown State University has announced:

Snow bans
Youngstown
The city declared a snow emergency effective 3 a.m. today. It will remain in effect until further notice. During a snow emergency, parking isn’t permitted on streets except those with a width of 25 feet or less and with no driveway facilities. Any vehicle parked in violation of the emergency will be subject to removal by towing at the owner’s expense.
Liberty
Township officials are requesting that all parked vehicles be removed from township streets while snow removal is taking place. The parking ban begins at 6 p.m. today and will end at 6 a.m. Sunday.
Canfield Township
Trustees have instituted a parking ban for all township streets through 12:01 a.m. Monday. It is the first time such a ban has been instituted this winter, said Marianna Cunningham, township secretary. The ban was instituted to help township crews plow the roads more effectively, she said.
Bazetta
Township trustees are prohibiting parking on any township street or highway during this snowstorm. The snow emergency will remain indefinitely.
Cortland
City officials have declared a snow emergency. Officials are requesting that residents refrain from parking on city streets. The parking ban will remain in place until the winter storm advisory has been lifted.
Warren
Warren has a parking ban on city streets until further notice, the city’s safety-service director said.
Others
CHOFFIN TUTORING PROGRAM CANCELED
YOUNGSTOWN — The tutoring program for Saturday at the Choffin Career Technical Center has been canceled.
University of Akron closes
AKRON —The University of Akron closed its main and Wayne campuses and the Medina County Community Center due to inclement weather at 3 p.m. Friday. The Wayne campus also will be closed today. Officials will decide Saturday morning if the main campus will also be closed for the day. Closure information can be found on the university’s snow line, 330-972-SNOW.
Warren-Trumbull Library closes
WARREN — The Warren-Trumbull County Public Library closed as of 4 p.m. Friday and will remain closed all day today. The closing affects the main library in Warren as well as branch locations in Brookfield, Cortland, Howland, Liberty, and Lordstown. Bookmobile and homebound services are also closed.
Community center closes in Salem
SALEM — The Salem Community Center and Center Circle, its soccer facility, closed at 3 p.m. Friday. Both operations are expected to reopen at 8 a.m. today, weather permitting.
ART OUTREACH GALLERY
The McDonald and Girard School district art receptions at the Art Outreach Gallery in the Eastwood Mall have been moved to Wednesday, from 5 to 7 p.m. and Sunday, March 16, from 3 to 5 p.m.
