NBA ROUNDUP Wednesday’s other games

Raptors 108, Heat 83

MIAMI — Rasho Nesterovic had 16 points and 10 rebounds, Jamario Moon added 14 points and Toronto embarrassed Miami for the second time this season to snap a three-game skid. Anthony Parker and Andrea Bargnani each scored 12 points for the Raptors, but Bargnani’s night will be best remembered by a scary collision with Miami’s Alexander Johnson that knocked the 2006 No. 1 overall pick out of the game early in the third quarter. Marcus Banks scored 21 points, and Ricky Davis and Dwyane Wade each finished with 16 for Miami, which lost for the 29th time in 32 games to retain the NBA’s worst record (11-47). The Raptors used a 16-0 first-quarter run to take control, and a 15-0 burst in the third quarter to seal their second easy win on the Heat home floor in a month.

Bobcats 118, Warriors 109

CHARLOTTE, N.C. — Jason Richardson scored 42 points against his former team, and Charlotte snapped Golden State’s four-game winning streak. Richardson, who spent six seasons with the Warriors before being traded on draft night, was two points shy of his career high. He hit 15 of 32 shots and added seven rebounds to help the Bobcats to their first three-game winning streak of the season. “I think the first time we faced them, being back in Oakland and seeing all the fans, the No. 23 jerseys, I think I was just overhyped,” Richardson said of his 2-for-9 shooting performance in the Bobcats’ 31-point loss. “This time I was more relaxed and in a much more settled environment. I just wanted to go out there and try to get the win.” Raymond Felton added 22 points and Jared Dudley had 10 points and a career-best 18 rebounds for Charlotte, which closed the game on a 13-3 run against the league’s top-scoring team. Monta Ellis scored 32 points, Baron Davis added 30 and Stephen Jackson had 21 for Golden State, which is trying to hold onto the final playoff spot in the Western Conference. After playing Boston close last Friday, the Bobcats have beaten Toronto, Minnesota and Golden State, which was coming off an impressive win in Atlanta on Tuesday.

Magic 122, Wizards 92

WASHINGTON — Dwight Howard had 20 points and 11 rebounds, and Orlando made an emphatic statement in a possible playoff preview by dominating Washington. The Magic never trailed, took a quick 10-2 lead and hardly looked back in winning their third straight game. They stretched their Southeast Division lead to 9 1/2 games over the Wizards in winning their 40th game, matching their victory total from last season.

Rashard Lewis had 13 of his 17 points in the first half for the Magic, and Keith Bogans went 5-for-5 in the first half for 12 of his 17 points. Antawn Jamison scored 19 points for the Wizards, who had won four of five and were trying to get back to .500 for the first time since Feb. 8.

Rockets 117, Pacers 99

HOUSTON — Tracy McGrady scored 25 points and the Houston Rockets set a franchise record with their 16th straight win. The Rockets are 4-0 since losing Yao Ming for the season with a stress fracture in his foot and have won 20 of their last 21 games, and own the longest winning streak in the NBA this season. The Rockets led by 17 at halftime, but two runs by Indiana in the third quarter got the Pacers within seven. Houston scored 11 of the last 13 points of the quarter to stretch the lead to 16 and the Pacers wouldn’t threaten again. It is Houston’s seventh straight win by 10 points or more, which extends a franchise record. All but two of McGrady’s points came in the first half and he had six rebounds and five assists. Rafer Alston added 21 points and had seven assists for the Rockets. Houston used an 14-4 run in the first half of the fourth quarter to stretch its lead to 108-82 and send scores of fans streaming for the exits. That run included a one-handed dunk by Carl Landry that brought the crowd to its feet and ended with a long 3-pointer by Bobby Jackson.

Bucks 118, SuperSonics 106

MILWAUKEE — Charlie Villanueva scored 32 points, his highest output in nearly two years, and had 11 rebounds as the Milwaukee Bucks scored a season-high 118 points to beat Seattle. It was only the second 30-point game of Villanueva’s career; the other was for 48 points as a Toronto Raptors rookie at Milwaukee on March 26, 2006. Andrew Bogut added 21 points, 13 rebounds and seven assists for Milwaukee, which was playing without guard Mo Williams and forward Yi Jianlian, out with minor injuries.

Kevin Durant had 23 points for Seattle, which lost for the sixth time in seven games and dropped to 6-24 on the road. Villaneuva, a reserve until replacing Yi in the starting lineup in early February, also tied his season highs in assists (three) and blocked shots (two).

Grizzlies 100, Nets 93

MEMPHIS, Tenn. — Hakim Warrick scored a season-high 25 points and the Memphis Grizzlies snapped their nine-game losing streak.

Hornets 116, Hawks 101

NEW ORLEANS — Chris Paul had 23 points and 18 assists, and the New Orleans Hornets tied a franchise record with 15 3-pointers. Peja Stojakovic made six 3-pointers and led all scorers with 29 points to help the Hornets to their second straight victory and fourth in five games. Joe Johnson scored 24 points and Mike Bibby 21 for Atlanta, which got as close as 62-59 in the third quarter but couldn’t keep pace with a New Orleans squad that kept hitting from longe range.
