Common opponent: At the Pickerington Tournament in December, Lakota West defeated Pennsylvania’s Archbishop Wood, 69-31. At the same tournament, Boardman lost to Archbishop Wood, 51-41.

Boardman scouting report: The Spartans won the Alliance district by defeating top seeds North Canton Hoover (38-37) and Canton McKinley (52-46). In the Canton regional, Boardman defeated Akron Kenmore (41-38) and Howland (43-35 in overtime). The offense runs through Schiffauer and Moore who must avoid fouls as long as possible. Boardman is making its second trip to state. Schiffauer was a freshman starter on the 2005 team that played in Columbus.
Lakota scouting report: The Firebirds are making their first state appearance. In the regional final at Otterbein College, the Firebirds defeated state-ranked Dublin Coffman, 62-48. Gray will play for Tennessee and Pat Summitt next fall. Her father, Carlton, was a defensive back for the Seattle Seahawks.
