Club South reopens April 1

BOARDMAN — Club South is scheduled to reopen about April 1 with a new operator and a new name.

Ed Reese, the owner of Creekside Fitness, today reached a deal to lease the Tiffany Boulevard fitness club that has been closed since Feb. 19. He intends to call the club Creekside South, said John Giannios, the landlord.

It appears that people who paid for memberships at Club South will not be reimbursed or receive credit, Giannios said.

“I feel bad about that,” he said.

He and Reese discussed the matter but don’t think past memberships can be accepted because the payments went to the previous operator, Lance Owens.
