Youngstown police investigating crash, one person dead

YOUNGSTOWN — Around 12:15 p.m. today, police were called the intersection of Erie Street and Dewey Avenue to check out a report of a car that went over a cliff and hit a tree.

The initial reports led police to believe it may have been a fatal crash. At least one person was reported dead. It is unknown how many more people were in the car. A traffic accident investigator and a Mahoning County coroner’s investigator were called to the scene.

A woman in the crowd at the scene said one of the people in the vehicle may have been her female cousin who was last seen Sunday.
