Columbiana Co. woman killed in head-on collision

ELKRUN TOWNSHIP — An 18-year-old Columbiana woman was killed Wednesday afternoon when the car she was driving north on state Route 7 went left of center while going around a curve. It crashed head-on into a southbound one-ton pickup truck towing an empty horse trailer.

The Ohio State Highway Patrol said Mary K. Bradshaw was pronounced dead at the scene by the Columbiana County coroner’s office. The crash occurred at 4:48 p.m. just south of Clarkson Road and about three miles south of Rogers.

Neither the driver of the truck, Roger D. Mitchell, 51, of Cumberland, Ohio, nor his four passengers were seriously injured. Mitchell’s passengers were Reuben D. Byler, 24, of Quaker City, Ohio; Toby J. Byler, 26, of Summerfield, Ohio; and Alvin J. Byler, 21, and Emma L. Byler, 19, both of Lewisville, Ohio.

The crash remains under investigation by the Lisbon Post of the OSHP. No charges have been filed.
