AUCTIONS

X Happy Hearts Tamburitzans will hold a Chinese auction Saturday at St. George Lodge 66, 3200 Vestal Road, Youngstown. Doors will open at 2 p.m. and drawings will begin at 6. The donation of $4 includes cake, coffee and one ticket. Other refreshments will be available.

XHoly Trinity Romanian Orthodox Church, 626 Wick Ave., Youngstown, will hold a Chinese auction Sunday. Doors will open at noon, and drawings will begin at 1:30 p.m. Tickets will be $3 per sheet or two sheets for $5. Tickets for specials are $1 each. There will be a 50-50 raffle, and food will be available.

cARD/BINGO PARTIES

X Park Vista will host a card party from 1 to 3 p.m. March 18 at the Park Vista North Lounge, 1310 Fifth Ave., Youngstown. Cards will be provided, and there will be desserts, beverages and prizes. Craft shows

X First Presbyterian Church in Niles will sponsor a Spring Craft Show from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Saturday in the church fellowship hall, at Robbins and Summit avenues. Gift baskets will be available through a Chinese auction. Admission is free, and refreshments will be available. Proceeds will go to the church mission fund.

nights at the races

X Our Lady of Hungary Church, 545 N. Belle Vista Ave., Youngstown, will hold its third annual night at the races Saturday Doors open at 5 p.m. and the races begin at 6. The donation will be $5. Featured will be Maverick, a 50-50 raffle and free food. No one under 18 will be admitted.

X St. Joseph Church of Warren is sponsoring its second annual night at the races at 6 p.m. April 18 at the Elks Club, 3581 Youngstown Road, S.E. Proceeds will benefit North End Environmental Development. Tickets are $15 per person and will be sold in advance only. There will be a buffet dinner and a Chinese raffle for gift baskets. TRIPs

X St. Paul Church in Salem is sponsoring a spring bus trip to Asheville, N.C., and the Biltmore from May 12 to 15. The trip includes tours of the Biltmore estate, gardens and winery; a train ride through the Smoky Mountains; a twilight cruise of Lake Lure; visits to the Folk Art Center and a Cherokee museum or casino; tours of Chimney Rock Park and Asheville; many meals; and entertainment.
