SteelHounds win in shootout

YOUNGTOWN — Chris Richards’ shootout goal gave the Youngstown SteelHounds a 3-2 victory Sunday over the Wichita Thunder at the Chevrolet Centre.

Richards was the only shooter to connect in the shootout, forcing Thunder goalie Bill Zaniboni to commit to the goalie’s right then tapping the puck into the open net.

Bryan Lachapelle and Joel Irving scored goals in regulation as the SteelHounds earned their first home three-game sweep of the season.
