Several people received sentences or probation by judges from Mercer County Common Pleas Court last week.

Edward Fisher, 53, of Plum Street, Greenville, ordered to make a $1,000 donation to the American Lung Association for selling unstamped cigarettes, a felony. On Aug. 1, 2007, according to court documents, Fisher was apprehended at a Canal Street, Greenville, address with 1,000 cigarettes with no Pennsylvania tax stamps. He had sold 400 of them to a woman for $30.

Michael Bochert, 22, and Douglas Danilovics, 22, both of South Myers Avenue, Sharon, both placed on one-year probation and ordered to make restitution for misdemeanor disorderly conduct. Court documents state that on Jan 6, 2007, the two repeatedly kicked a man in the face and upper body at at The Keg, 1499 E. State St., Sharon. The man required medical treatment.

Quentin Frantz, 18, of Wallis Avenue, Farrell, placed on two years’ probation for receiving stolen property. Court documents state that between April 14 and 20, 2007, he had a stolen assault rifle at a Hadley Road, Hempfield Township residence.

Stephen Kronz, 42, of Cowlitz Trail, placed on one-year probation and given 14 days’ credit for time served for unauthorized use of a vehicle. According to court documents, Kronz failed to return a rented truck Jan. 29, 2007, to Enterprise Rent-A-Car, 1687 W. Main St. Ext., Pine Township.

Donald Parker, 52, of McMillan Road, Mercer, placed on one-year probation for disorderly conduct. He exposed his genitals Feb. 22, 2007, outside a Butler Pike Road, Findley Township residence, court documents state.

Robert Payne, 41, of Gibsonia, Pa., sentenced to six to 12 months in jail followed by two years’ probation for felony possession with intent to manufacture marijuana and possession of drug paraphernalia, a misdemeanor. Court documents state Payne was apprehended Jan. 5, 2007, at an Amsterdam Road, Liberty Township, residence with marijuana. He possessed scales, pots, grow lights, a carbon dioxide cylinder, numerous electronic devices, timers and hoses.

Trista Payne, 34, of Virginia Beach, Va., placed on two years’ probation for retail theft for stealing $340 worth of clothing March 24, 2007, from Sears department store, Hermitage.

Marco West, 20, of Spearman Avenue, Farrell, placed on four years’ probation and ordered to make restitution for simple assault and resisting arrest. He was given credit for 13 days served. West, along with others, jumped a 15-year-old juvenile and beat him while the teen was on the ground in a parking lot on North Water Avenue, Sharon, on June 30, 2006, court documents state. He then fought with Sharon police officers who had to use a baton and Taser to place him under arrest.

Jerry Willis, 49, of Hamilton Avenue, Farrell, sentenced to 12 to 24 months in the Mercer County Jail for recklessly endangering another person and was given 223 days’ credit for time served. Court documents state that on April 4, 2007, he displayed a semiautomatic pistol and threatened to kill another man with whom he had had an argument on East State Street, Sharon. Another adult and a child were in the vicinity when he brandished the firearm.
