Taking nominations
for ATHENA Award

YOUNGSTOWN — The Regional Chamber is accepting nominations and sponsors for the 2008 ATHENA Award. The annual event, which is sponsored by The Vindicator and Vindy.com, will be May 22. It honors women for professional accomplishment and commitment to their field and community.

Sponsor levels vary from $100 to $2,500. Nominees should show involvement, leadership and achievement. For more information, contact Helen Paes, vice president of business services at the chamber, at (330) 744-2131, ext. 16.

Dunkin’ Donuts plans
new store in Howland

HOWLAND — Dunkin’ Donuts will build a restaurant at Niles-Cortland Road and Kenyon Drive. It is to open in July, said Spice Mills of Canfield, which owns Dunkin’ Donuts franchise stores in the area. The partners are Ted Rodgers and Bryan Stolte. The restaurant will have drive-through service, indoor seating for 21 and outdoor seating for eight.

The restaurant is part of a new development owned by Veon Real Estate of West Middlesex, Pa. The company said plans will be announced later for additional retail stores and perhaps another restaurant. Veon manages a mixture of retail, office, governmental and industrial properties.

Niles Expanded
gets new metal line

NILES — Niles Expanded Metals & Plastics is installing a new metal line, its fourth new line in six years. The line is to be operational in April and will process a variety of metals, including carbon steel, stainless steel and aluminum. The company said the expansion is part of its long-term commitment to increase capacity. The company’s product line includes foils, gratings, edgings and fences.

Weekly Web cast
to target Youngstown

YOUNGSTOWN — Accent Media of Youngstown is launching a weekly Web cast called “Accent on Youngstown.” The video will be available on the company’s Web site, www.accentmediaonline.org, and its MySpace page. It is a project designed to showcase downtown Youngstown, the company’s clients and the community at large. Each Web cast will be eight to 15 minutes long and can be seen for free. Included will be segments on news, commentary, civics, entertainment and food. The first Web cast will be Friday.

Exit Realty Home Pride
schedules ceremony

CANFIELD — Exit Realty Home Pride will hold a ribbon-cutting ceremony at 11 a.m. Wednesday for its new office at 4242 Boardman-Canfield Road. Lisa Lee is the owner/broker. Marve Minneman is the owner/associate broker, and Terri Hoon is the manager. Exit Realty Corp. is expanding across the nation with franchised locations.

Westminster to be site
of business expo

NEW WILMINGTON, Pa. — The New Wilmington Area Business Expo will be from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. March 15 at Westminster College’s Memorial Field House. Nearly 1,500 people attended last year’s event, which included displays from more than 100 businesses. Admission is free and open to the public. The New Wilmington Area Chamber of Commerce organizes the expo. Business that are interested in having a display are asked to call Anne Bruening at (724) 946-3300.
