AUSTINTOWN — Opera singer Jennifer Davis Jones will return to her alma mater to sing with the Fitch High School Band at its annual concert at 7:30 p.m. Thursday in the school auditorium. The concert will feature the Fitch Concert and Symphonic bands. Admission is $4 ($3.00 for students; free for seniors). The Fitch bands are under the direction of Wesley O’Connor and Kelly Zunic.
Davis Jones will sing “O Mio Babbino Caro” by Giacomo Puccini, and Victor Herbert’s, “Italian Street Song.”
Davis Jones is a graduate of the University of Cincinnati’s College-Conservatory of Music, and has a masters degree in opera performance from the Curtis Institute of Music in Philadelphia. She completed apprenticeships with opera companies in Miami and San Francisco, and language study in Perugia, Italy. Davis Jones toured as Violetta and Mimi in “La Boheme” for San Francisco Opera Center’s Western Opera Theater, and has performed numerous other roles.
Davis Jones taught voice at Ashland University and at Youngstown State University. She lives with her husband, Dr. Allan Mosher, and their daughter, Julia, in Canfield.
Kent-Trumbull Theatre
seeks technical interns
CHAMPION — Kent-Trumbull Theatre is seeking applicants for its annual technical theater internship program for high school students. Training will include scenery, scene painting, properties, lighting, sound and costuming. The program is 15 hours a week for eight weeks; interns will also crew a show. Youngstown Connection
in show at Stambaugh
YOUNGSTOWN — The Youngstown Connection will present “American Salute: A Tribute in Song and Dance” March 30 in Christman Hall at Stambaugh Auditorium, 1000 Fifth Ave.
Lunch begins at 12:30 p.m., with the program following. Tickets are $23 and include lunch. Reservations are required and can be made by calling Stambaugh at (330) 747-5175.
Easter Bunny event
at Boardman park
BOARDMAN — Boardman Township Park’s annual Evening with the Easter Bunny will be March 20 from 5:30-7:30 p.m. in the Boardman Community Center. Tickets are $6 ($8 for non-Boardman residents) and can be purchased at the Boardman Park office. Children 1 year and under are free. Tickets include dinner, crafts and one photograph per family. The park is also hosting its annual Easter Egg and Goodies Hunt on March 22 at Tots Town Playground. The hunt, which is free for children 8 and under, begins at 10 a.m. for ages 5-8 and 10:30 a.m. for ages 4 and under.
Canfield concert band
in benefit performance
CANFIELD — The Canfield Community Concert Band will present a concert at 4 p.m. March 9 at the Old North Church, 7105 Herbert Road. Admission will be canned goods or cash donations to benefit Operation Blessing, a volunteer group that provides food to needy families in Mahoning County.
The concert will feature Josh Hawkins and Patrick Julian performing the Concerto in B Flat for Two Trumpets by Vivaldi, and Leann Rich performing the first movement of the Oboe Concerto No. 3 in g Minor by Handel. The Woodwind Quintet will perform “Can Can” by Jacques Offenbach and the whole band will present “Toccata” by Girolamo Frescobaldi; “Irish Tune from Country Derry” by Percy A. Grainger; “Eternal Father Strong to Save” by Claude T. Smith’ and upbeat marches.
