Alzheimer’s Network will revive memories

YOUNGSTOWN — The Alzheimer’s Assistance and Referral Network will present “Valley Memories,” its annual charity auction and dinner Saturday at Mr. Anthony’s in Boardman to benefit the organization’s support efforts.

The highlights will include photo and memorabilia displays on loan from Steeltown Studios, the Mahoning Valley Historical Society, Youngstown State University and General Motors Lordstown.

Chinese, basket, silent and live auctions will be held. Auction items include two airline tickets to Orlando, Fla.; four Disney Hopper Passes; Youngstown Symphony Orchestra tickets; and a variety of sports tickets and outings.

Hors d’oeuvres will be served at 6 p.m., and a buffet dinner will follow at 7. Take II will be performing throughout the evening. Although the Network often gears its events around reminiscences, this year’s memories are uniquely the Valley’s own.

Individual ticket prices start at $40, and tables of eight are available for $290. Seating is limited. To order tickets, call Ticket chairman Bob Linn at (330) 534-8403 or board member Patti Corsale at (330) 506-8653.

Founded in 2004, the Alzheimer’s Assistance and Referral Network’s mission is to help area families deal with the many responsibilities in tending to loved ones with this progressive brain disease.
