for Holy Week, Easter
The Vindicator’s Religion page will run a listing of area services that are open to the public in observance of Palm Sunday, March 16; Holy Thursday, March 20; Good Friday, March 21; Holy Saturday, March 22; and Easter, March 23. The deadline to submit information is 5 p.m. March 12. Publication will be March 15.
Information should include the denomination and name of the church, address, city or suburb, the day, time, type of service, your name and a phone number for verification.

Other information on Orthodox Lenten programs also should be submitted. The deadline to submit information is 5 p.m. Wednesday. The list will be published March 8.
Orthodox Holy Week is April 19-27. The deadline to submit information is 5 p.m. April 9. Information will be published April 12.

CD party planned
GIRARD — His Music Connection will continue its coffee house concert series March 8 with performing artist Jordan Beil of Clutch Student Ministries. He will be singing songs from his new CD, “The Way You Move Me.” The coffee house will be open from 6 to 10 p.m. in the old Wellman theater, 29 W. Liberty St. There is free admission and refreshments.
Rosary cenacle
YOUNGSTOWN — The Shrine of Our Lady, Comforter of the Afflicted, 517 S. Belle Vista Ave., and Queen of the Holy Rosary prayer group will hold a rosary cenacle at 6:30 p.m. Wednesday at the shrine. Refreshments will follow in the social hall.
Easter visitation
YOUNGSTOWN — Our Lady of Hungary Church, 545 N. Belle Vista Ave., will hold Easter visitation of the homebound and nursing homes March 16. Singers will meet for the noon Mass and then start visitation at 1.
Keelings in concert
BERLIN CENTER — The Keeling Family will be in concert at the Berlin Center United Methodist Church, 15611 Akron-Canfield Road, at 10:55 a.m. Sunday.
Women of Purpose
YOUNGSTOWN — The Women of Purpose Ministry at Union Baptist Church, 528 Lincoln Ave., will hold the annual prayer breakfast at 9 a.m. March 15 at the Holiday Inn in Boardman. Thelma Butts of the Anointed World of Life Church of God in Christ in Akron will speak on “Cut It Straight in 2008,” from 2 Timothy 2:15. Tickets are $15 and the deadline is Friday. Bible study
YOUNGSTOWN — Valley Bible Study, an ongoing Catholic study of the readings for the coming Sunday, holds two sessions on the same material from 9:30 to 11 a.m. Tuesday and 7 to 8 p.m. Wednesday at St. Brendan Church school room 103, 2900 Oakwood Ave. Sessions will be next week, and March 11 and 12 and 25 and 26.

Celebration for bishop
FARRELL, Pa. — A celebration in honor of Bishop Alvin J. McCoy is planned at 6 p.m. Sunday at New and Living Way Apostolic Church of Jesus Christ, 927 Lee Ave. The bishop founded and is the pastor of the church. He also founded Apostolic Ministries.
Children’s fair
LIBERTY — Church Hill United Methodist Church, 189 Churchill-Hubbard Road, will hold its annual Children’s Fair from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. March 8. The event, which is open to the community, will feature an animal toss, fish pond, lollipop tree, dart game, cake walk and sand art. Lunch items will be available. Rosary and Mass
POLAND — The Infant Jesus of Prague Guild will hold its monthly Mass at 10 a.m. March 12 at Holy Family Church, 2729 Center Road. The rosary will be at 9:30.
Mission at church
SHARON, Pa. — “Building the Kingdom in a Changing World” is the theme of a spiritual renewal program planned from 7 to 8:30 p.m. Sunday through Wednesday at St. Joseph Church, 79 Case Ave. The program, part of a series in the Isaiah Parish Missions, will be presented by the Rev. George Knab of Chicago and Marcy Keefe-Slager of Jackson, Mich. The Catholic evangelists will offer practical suggestions for coping.
Lenten meditation
SHARON, Pa. — St. John’s Episcopal Church, 226 W. State St., will present the fourth part of its Lenten meditation and recital series at noon Tuesday with carillon music followed by meditation and then a recital by violinist Calvin Lewis, concertmaster and personnel manager of Youngstown Symphony. Accompanist is Paula Kubik. The free program will be followed by a light lunch.
