Pupils to attend tourney at YSU

YOUNGSTOWN — More than 400 school pupils and their supporters will be on the Youngstown State University campus for the 2008 version of Region 1 DestiNation ImagiNation® Tournament on March 15.

The event will run from 9 a.m. to 8 p.m. with activities being scheduled in various locations in Kilcawley and Beeghly centers throughout the day. The public is welcome to attend.

Region 1 includes school districts in Trumbull, Mahoning and Ashtabula counties.

DestiNation ImagiNation® is an activity that promotes teamwork and creativity. There are several challenges available which provide teams the opportunity to expand their knowledge about theatrical performance and production, mechanics, engineering, improvisation and technological skills. Teams must complete all tasks on their own without outside assistance. All teams are placed on a strict budget and use of recycled materials is encouraged.

DestiNation ImagiNation® is sponsored in part by the National Dairy Council, 3M, Velcro USA, Association of Equipment Manufactures (AEM) & ConstructMyFuture.com, Staples and the Sci Fi Channel. It is an approved activity on the National Advisory List of Student Contests and Activities, produced by the National Association of Secondary School Principals.
