Megan McKenna is an internationally known author, lecturer, retreat leader and spiritual director.

EDUCATION: She has graduate degrees in Scripture, adult education and literacy from the Graduate Theological Union and the University of California at Berkeley, and a master’s in systematic theology from Catholic University, Washington, D.C. She received a doctorate from the Graduate Theological Union at Berkeley, and has taught in Dublin, Ireland, Asia, South America, Chicago, Marshall Islands, Thailand and Albuquerque, N.M., where she lives.

AUTHOR: McKenna has written more than 30 books, including “And Morning Came — Scriptures of the Resurrection,” “Praying the Rosary,” “Send My Roots Rain,” “The New Stations of the Cross,” “On Your Mark — Reading Mark in the Shadow of the Cross” and the recently released, “Harm Not The Earth.” Especially for the Lenten season, she has a two-volume set compiled “Lent: The Sunday Readings” and “Lent: Daily Readings.” These editions feature stories and reflections on how to imitate Jesus, resist temptation and to find strength in the Eucharist, the Word of God and prayer throughout the Lenten season.

GLOBALLY: A native of New York City, McKenna has lived, visited and gypsied through North and South America (especially Bolivia/Peru), Europe, the Philippines, Singapore, Haiti, Hawaiian Islands, Malaysia, India, Marshall Islands, Thailand, Australia and China. She works with Indigenous groups, in base Christian communities and with justice and peace groups as well as parishes, dioceses and religious communities. She has been on the United States National Board of Pax Christi and in 2002 was appointed an Ambassador of Peace for Pax Christi.
