‘Pilgrim George’ to present Lenten mission

YOUNGSTOWN — George Walter, who is known as “Pilgrim George,” will present a Lenten mission next week at Holy Trinity Ukrainian Catholic Church, 526 W. Rayen Ave.

The schedule is: Thursday, devotional service at 3 p.m. and Pilgrim George presentation at 3:30; Friday, presentation at 4 and pre-sanctified liturgy at 6; and next Saturday, 8, Akathistos at 2 and presentation at 2:45. There also will be time for Reconciliation and individual prayers with Pilgrim George.

Pilgrim George has walked for Jesus for 40 years — walking some 40,000 miles through 40 countries. He graduated from St. Vincent Seminary in Latrobe, Pa., and was told by his bishop at the time to “pray and go on a pilgrimage.” He made a pilgrimage to the Holy Land in 1971.
