Woman urges suit against authorities

PITTSBURGH (AP) — A western Pennsylvania woman who ran away as a teenager and lived with a school security guard for a decade says her lawsuit against his former employer, school officials and other authorities should go on.

Defendants want Tanya Kach’s (KASH) suit dismissed, but in court papers filed this week, Kach says Cornell Middle School officials and McKeesport Police knew of her relationship with Thomas Hose, but failed to do anything about it. She claims her civil rights were violated.

Kach was 14 when she ran away in February 1996 to live with Hose, who was then 37. Kach resurfaced in March 2006 and says he kept her against her will.

Hose is serving five to 15 years in prison after pleading guilty to various sexual assault, child endangerment and custody charges.
