Turning Technologies does grant program

YOUNGSTOWN — Turning Technologies has started a grant program to provide its TurningPoint response systems to 15 kindergarten through 12th-grade classrooms across the country. The Youngstown-based company said the program is designed to increase awareness of the systems in classroom use.

The grants are open to all accredited public and private schools and will be distributed on a competitive basis. Grant applications are available at the company’s Web site until Sept. 15. Recipients will be announced Sept. 30.

Dr. Raymond opens chiropractic clinic

AUSTINTOWN — Dr. Christopher Raymond, an Austintown native, has opened a chiropractic clinic in the Weston Center, 5533 Mahoning Ave. He graduated in February from Palmer Chiropratic Clinic in Davenport, Iowa.

He is using Insight Millennium Subluxation Station diagnostic equipment, which analyzes the function of the spine and nervous system, which can’t be seen on X-rays. The phone number of the office is (330) 799-4400.

Farris Marketing to do campaign for Northside

BOARDMAN — Farris Marketing recently was retained by Forum Health to create a marketing campaign for Northside Medical Center.

The Boardman-based firm worked with the hospital’s marketing and public relations staff to develop Northside’s new theme: “5-Star Healthcare Close to Home.” The theme will go in a series of print ads, billboards and public relations initiatives. Farris also developed a Web site, www.Northside5star.com, that focuses exclusively on Northside.

Building has begun on new medical center

COLUMBIANA — Construction has begun on Prima Health Care’s new medical center at 107 Royal Birkdale Drive.

Prima facilities will use 14,000 square feet of the new 20,000-square-foot building to house eight family practice and internal medicine physicians. Its administrative offices also will be moved there. The rest of the space will be leased to tenants. Construction is expected to be completed by December 2008.

The general contractor for the project is the Murphy Contracting Co. The architect is Thomas Keller. Prima Health Care has 20 physicians and offices in Boardman, Austintown, and Salem.

Dunkin’ Donuts opens

HOWLAND — Dunkin’ Donuts has opened a location at 1501 Niles-Cortland Road, S.E. The 2,100-square-foot restaurant employs 55 and seats about 20.

The restaurant features Dunkin’ Donuts’ new 2015 interior design.

This is the fifth restaurant for local franchisees Bryan Stolte and Ken Rogers. They plan to open more, including one this year on Market Street in Boardman, south of U.S. Route 224.

Named to CPA board

COLUMBUS — Craig Steinhoff, a certified public accountant in Canfield, has been named to a two-year term on the executive board of the Ohio Society of CPAs. New officers were installed recently at the group’s annual meeting in Columbus.
