COITSVILLE — The Boardman Poland Junior Women’s League announces its Fifth Annual Golf Outing, scheduled for July 12 at Bedford Trails Golf Course, 713 Bedford Road, which will help an ailing law enforcement officer.

The outing will benefit John Beshara, who faces mounting medical expenses in a battle with primary central nervous system lymphoma, a type of brain cancer. He is receiving chemotherapy and radiation treatments at the Cleveland Clinic until the end of the year.

Beshara is a captain with the Mahoning County Sheriff’s Department and a 19-year veteran. He has a wife, Julie, and two daughters, Taylor, 14, and Emily, 12.

The golf outing, in a scramble format, will begin with a shotgun start at 8:30 a.m. The cost is $75 per player with four-person teams and includes 18 holes, a cart, and breakfast, lunch and a steak dinner. Hole-in-one prizes include a two-year lease on a Chevy Trailblazer and an H3 weekend package. Also featured will be a Chinese auction, a 50-50 raffle, pitching games and more.

Registration is limited to the first 36 teams, and the deadline is July 5. For more information about sponsoring a hole, donating to the Chinese auction, or playing in the outing, contact Lynn Mickey at (330) 770-5871 or themickeys2@yahoo.com.
