STRUTHERS — The Society of St. John Chrysostom Youngstown-Warren Chapter will present “Current Possibilities (and Drawbacks) of Online Ecumenism: Relations Between East and West” during a program at 7 p.m. July 8 at St. Nicholas Catholic Church, 764 Fifth St. Speakers will be David and Jonathan Bennett, teachers and writers. The society is an ecumenical organization of Catholic and Orthodox clergy and laity.

Coach to speak

MINERAL RIDGE — Mineral Ridge Church of Christ, 3911 Main St., will host Youngstown State University head football coach Jon Heacock as guest speaker at services Sunday. The traditional service is at 8:30 a.m. and the contemporary service is at 10:45. Coach Heacock is a member of Greenford Christian Church.

Afternoon Masses planned

YOUNGSTOWN — Our Lady of Hungary Church, 545 N. Belle Vista Ave., will hold Masses at 4:30 p.m. Tuesdays, beginning next week. A simple Eucharistic, lasting 30 minutes, is scheduled.

Masses in Spanish

WARREN — Blessed Sacrament Church, 3020 Reeves Road N.E., will hold Masses in Spanish at 6 p.m. July 7, Aug. 4 and Sept. 8. After the services, covered dish dinners will be held in the church hall. Those attending are asked to take a dish to share.

Rosary cenacle

YOUNGSTOWN — The Shrine of Our Lady, Comforter of the Afflicted, 507 S. Belle Vista Ave., and Queen of the Holy Rosary Prayer Group will hold a rosary cenacle at 6:30 p.m. Wednesday at the shrine. Refreshments will follow in the social hall.

Peniel Holiness Camp

CONNEAUTVILLE, Pa. — Peniel Holiness Camp, Route 18, will hold a meeting beginning with a concert at 7:30 p.m. July 17. The camp will continue with services at 10:30 a.m. and 2:30 and 7:30 p.m. daily until July 27. The Rev. Rob Smith, pastor of Fishkill Church of the Nazarene, will lead the youth ministry; teens may stay at the camp at a cost of $75. Evangelists will be Dr. Roy Lauter, chairman of the board at World Gospel Mission, and the Rev. Jeremiah Bolich and Tab Beechler. NEW CASTLE, Pa. — Dr. Rod Buzzard will be guest speaker during a service at 7 p.m. Sunday at Epworth United Methodist Church, 805 E. Washington St. He is the Southeastern presbyter of Calvary Ministries International and pastor of Crossroads Community Church in Fort Myers, Fla.

EAST PALESTINE — The Rev. Gene Toot, pastor emeritus of Trinity Church in East Liverpool where he retired after 33 years service, will be guest speaker at the 10:30 a.m. service Sunday at First United Presbyterian Church, 109 W. Rebecca St.

Musical at church

YOUNGSTOWN — Oak Missionary Baptist Church, 320 Elk St., will sponsor a benefit musical, “Sing Unto the Heavens,” at 4 p.m. Sunday. Participants will be Lisa Manigualt, Pastor Eleanor Felder, Voice of One, Carol Cole, Greater Ebenzer Baptist Church choir, St. Peter’s Baptist Church, Mike Jennings, minister Brenell Williams and the Revs. Carl Anderson and Aaron Griffin. The church was vandalized in April and musical instruments were damaged.
