Rondinelli wins 19th behind Hill, miscues


STRUTHERS — Rondinelli Tuxedo, outhit 8-6, took advantage of five errors by Action Physical Therapy to post a 7-2 win in a Class B League game Wednesday.

Cory Hill (3-0) scattered eight hits with six strikeouts to pick up the win for Rondinelli (19-3).

Mike Backes hit three singles for Action (0-21).

Thursday’s games in the Class B League were rained out and rescheduled for July 1.

R J Trucking 5, Roth Brothers 4

STRUTHERS — R J Trucking (15-7) scored three runs in the top of the first inning and a deciding run in the sixth to prevail.

Paul Indrihovic (1-1) worked 6 2/3 innings with six strikeouts to pick up the win. Matt Pitzulo hit a triple and two singles. Scott Smith added a single and triple.

Bob Zanni (1-3) took the loss for Roth (7-14).

Roth Brothers 12, R J Trucking 11

STRUTHERS — In the completion of a suspended game from June 13, Roth Brothers scored an unearned run in the top of the 10th inning for the victory.

Pat Mulligan (4-3) pitched three scoreless innings of relief to pick up the win. He allowed only two hits with five strikeouts and he had three hits, one a triple.

Matt Pitzulo had three RBIs for R J Trucking.

Warren AA

WARREN — Elite Shockers (10-3) scored the deciding run, defeating Cleats Club Seat Grille 6-5 as rain stopped the contest at the end of the fifth inning.

Brian McClung singled, stole second and advanced to third on a wild pitch and then home on another wild pitch for the winning run. Mark Yartz, the winning pitcher, and Mike Johnson each had two hits. Mike Swoboda hit a single and double for Cleats Club (6-8).

Trumbull County Predators 3, Cleats Club Seat Grille 2

WARREN — The Predators (2-9) scored the deciding run in the bottom of the eighth inning. Jarret Partridge and Adam Collier each singled and Partridge scored on an error. Adam Collier hit a double and three singles for the Predators. Josh Miller hit a pair of singles for Cleats (6-7). Andrew Beachy hit a double.

Mahoning Valley Knights 3, Flex Strut 0

WARREN — John Thompson and Josh Swipas hit a pair of singles apiece for the Knights, who took a 2-0 lead in the bottom of the third inning. Brett Dutton scattered five hits, with seven strikeouts in pitching a complete game for the win.

The Knights (11-2) lead the Caffie Division.
