June 19

Drug paraphernalia: Police served a search warrant at a Crestline Place home and arrested a 22-year-old man on a charge of possession of drug paraphernalia after saying a canine had found a small amount of suspected marijuana in a dresser. Other contraband also was located, the report showed.

Theft: A man reported the theft of a $150 glider with a canopy from his Loma Vista Drive residence.

Theft: A Youngstown man’s 26-inch mountain bike was stolen while he patronized a Boardman-Poland Road store.

Domestic violence: A 21-year-old Valencia, Pa., man was arrested in the 7400 block of Market Street and charged after his father alleged the son pushed him down and fought with the accuser during a work-related argument.

Theft: Three East Palestine girls, one age 16 and two age 17, were charged in the theft of undergarments, jewelry and cosmetics from Wal-Mart, 1300 Doral Drive.

Assault: A worker with a Boardman-Poland Road business told police she followed a suspicious woman to her vehicle, and that the woman tossed an ink bottle at the employee, covering her with red ink.

June 20

Burglary: A woman reported at least 50 DVDs stolen after someone entered her Oregon Trail residence via a side window.

Theft: A Melrose Avenue man reported a total of $60 worth of gasoline stolen from his two vehicles.

Robbery: A man walking in the 1200 block of Shields Road told authorities two men exited a maroon vehicle, knocked him to the ground and struck the accuser several times before taking a $250 pair of prescription glasses and a cell phone.

Theft: A Youngstown woman, 18, was charged, accused of taking $30 worth of clothing from Wal-Mart.

Arrests: Two Boardman boys, 15 and 16, were charged with criminal trespassing and resisting arrest at a festival at St. Charles Church on Westview Drive. Officers had ejected several juveniles, but the two refused to leave and became combative, the report said.

Attempted burglary: A Romaine Avenue woman returned to her home and found a screen on her kitchen floor as well as an open storm window, though no entry was made after her dogs apparently scared off the intruder.

Drugs: A 21-year-old Boardman man and an Akron man, 25, were cited after police said they found a small bag of suspected marijuana under a trash bin in the 7100 block of Market Street.

Arrests: A traffic stop near South and Moyer avenues led to the arrests of two Youngstown women, 38 and 45, both of whom were wanted on warrants charging them with failure to appear in court on probation-violation charges. One also was charged with possession of drug paraphernalia when, police said, a suspected crack pipe was found in the car.

Vandalism: A worker for Party Place, 150 Boardman-Canfield Road, reported someone used a marker to write an obscenity on a wall.

Theft: Police charged a 28-year-old Youngstown man after he was accused of taking a wristwatch and cologne from Sears in the Southern Park Mall.

Theft: A 17-year-old employee of an East Western Reserve Road fast-food restaurant was charged after money was stolen from a deposit bag. When confronted, the teen had a large wad of cash in his pocket, a co-worker said.

June 21

Arrest: A Liberty Township man, 36, faced a felony charge of public indecency after a Boardman-Poland Road store employee told police the man frequently caused problems in the area. The man was exposed when officers ordered him from the vehicle, they said.

Domestic violence: A 22-year-old Campbell man was taken into custody and charged after an employee with a South Avenue motel alleged her former boyfriend made roughly 20 calls threatening to harm her and came to her workplace as part of ongoing problems between the two. He also was issued a criminal-trespassing warning.

Theft: Two Youngstown girls, 15 and 17, faced charges of theft and criminal damaging after more than $1,000 worth of clothing was stolen from the JCPenney store in the Southern Park Mall.

Theft: A 21-year-old Youngstown woman was accused of removing 10 cosmetics products from Wal-Mart and faced one count of theft.

Theft: An elderly Boardman woman shopping at a Boardman-Canfield Road store reported her purse, $120 and other items stolen.

Theft: A motorist pumped and failed to pay for $44.46 worth of gasoline before leaving a UniMart station, 310 Boardman-Canfield Road.

Criminal damaging: A vehicle’s hood and windshield sustained a total of $1,500 worth of damage at Boardman Nissan Inc., 7809 Market St.

Theft: Someone took two cordless drills from Home Depot, 7001 Southern Blvd.

Criminal damaging: An Oregon Trail woman discovered obscenities had been spray-painted on a portion of her aluminum siding.

Burglary: A man returned to his Locust Avenue apartment and found that it had been entered, though nothing appeared to be missing.

Theft: Officers arrested four Youngstown boys, ages 13, 14, 15 and 17, on theft charges. The teens were accused of taking from Wal-Mart nearly $100 worth of merchandise.

Assault/criminal damaging: A South Avenue woman alleged her boyfriend pulled her hair and tried to choke her as they argued, in a vehicle en route to her residence, about her decision to end their relationship. The man also kicked and damaged her car’s windshield and driver’s-side door, she reported.

June 22

Criminal damaging: A man in the 6800 block of Tanglewood Drive reported damage to his plastic mailbox.

Breaking and entering: A man’s $350 mountain bike was stolen after someone entered the garage to his residence in the 5000 block of Aravesta Avenue.

Theft/misuse of a credit card: A West Parkside Drive woman told police she was paying $800 worth of charges after her credit card had been stolen.

Theft: A driver pumped $30 worth of gasoline and left a UniMart station, 1090 Boardman-Poland Road, without paying.

Assault: A man at a Boardman group home told police another resident punched the accuser several times when he refused to give the resident a cigarette. The resident said the accuser had challenged him to a fight.

Domestic violence: Authorities took a 49-year-old man into custody at his Belle Vista Avenue residence on a warrant charging him. The man’s former wife alleged he slapped her in the face during an argument about their daughter.
