Woman reports ID fraud
BOARDMAN — An 84-year-old township woman was a victim of identity fraud when a “fast-talking man” arrived on her doorstep and persuaded her to change her insurance to his nonexistent company.
The woman said that the man claimed he was from Provident American Life and Health Insurance of Dallas, Texas, and persuaded her to change from her medicare insurance to his company. She gave him her Social Security number and bank account information on Wednesday when he came to her home.
The next day, the woman called the Better Business Bureau and learned that the man’s insurance company was not a real business.

SWCD seeks volunteers
CORTLAND — The Trumbull Soil Water Conservation District is looking for clubs, organizations, churches, youth groups and volunteers to conduct storm drain marking projects in their communities.
The goal of the SWCD Storm Drain Marking project is to let neighbors know that anything dumped into the street drains pollutes the water supply.
“Pollutants such as motor oil, grass clippings, leaves, pesticides, fertilizers and sediment too many times end up along roadsides and in street drains,” said Mike Wilson, SWCD executive director.
In urbanized areas of the county, storm drain marking is a requirement by the Environmental Protection Agency for public participation in pollution control.
For more information or to receive a project packet, contact Amy Reeher, SWCD watershed coordinator, at (330) 637-2056, Ext. 111.
