Gruver’s one-hitter paces Astros past Dave Sugar 3-2
STRUTHERS — Steve Gruver tossed a one-hitter with 12 strikeouts to lead the Astro Falcons past Dave Sugar Excavating, 3-2, Monday in Class B action at Cene Park.
Both runs allowed by Gruver (3-0) were unearned. Mark Lapikas doubled and singled for Astro (14-6).
Todd Kibby (2-2) pitched the first five innings for Dave Sugar (15-5), striking out seven and walking eight.
Roth Brothers 6, Livi Steel 2
Roth (6-13) managed only four hits, but took advantage of five errors to score six unearned runs.
Pat Mulligan (3-3) went the distance with six strikeouts.
Zach Cuffman (3-2) suffered the loss while Bobby Herberger, Garret Malloy and Justin Gorgacz each had two hits for Livi (10-11).
R J Trucking 6, Simon Roofing 3
R J Trucking (14-5) scored four times in the top of the first inning. Mike Keller drove in two runs with a double while Nick Baimonte went the distance for his fifth win in six decsions. He had seven strikeouts.
Evan Bollinger doubled for Simon (12-8).

CLEVELAND — Shannon Fence swept a Sunday doubleheader from Youngstown Metros, winning 3-2 and 10-4.
Joe Antingue took the loss in the opener, allowing five hits and walking two. Josh Gardner and Armani Johnson scored for Metros.
Trailing 1-0 in the fourth inning, Shannon Fence scored seven runs, with Matt Wantz and Kyle Shaffer hitting consecutive doubles.
Dom Sylvestry had two of the Metros’ eight hits.
