Symphony guild has installation of new officers, plans events
YOUNGSTOWN — The Youngstown Symphony Guild recently installed officers for the coming year.
Susan Berny was seated as president, and her associate officers are Jeanne Simeone, vice president; Carole Bertolini, corresponding secretary; Millie Campean, recording secretary; and Mercy Komar, treasurer.
The guild’s purpose is to support the Youngstown Symphony Orchestra through fundraising events, subscription sale campaigns and volunteer activities.
Upcoming fundraising projects for the guild include a Gala Opening Soiree on Oct. 18 at DeYor Performing Arts Center; Child’s Play, a series of interactive programs accompanied by lunch for young people and their families, Oct. 25, Dec. 6, and Feb. 7, 2009, at DeYor; Fashion and Furs on March 11, 2009, at Tippecanoe Country Club; the Symphony Ball on April 18, 2009, at DeYor; and a golf outing in June 2009.
