Judge issues sentences in Mercer County court

MERCER, Pa. — Judge John Reed of Mercer County Common Pleas Court sentenced the following people Friday in Mercer County Common Pleas Court. According to court documents:

UJeffrey Covelli, 43, of Knox Avenue, New Castle, was placed on one year’s probation for a consolidated count of possession of a controlled substance, a misdemeanor. He was apprehended Aug. 1, 2007, at an Orchard Road, Wilmington Township, residence with ecstasy and a combination of cocaine and a controlled painkiller.

UDustin Hancock, 28, of Ellsworth Street, Sharon, was placed on one year’s probation and fined $1,000 for furnishing alcohol to minors, a misdemeanor. He gave three cans of beer to a girl under 21 at his residence on June 6, 2007.

UEric Moon, 25, of Liberty Street, Fredonia, was re-sentenced to four years probation for misdemeanor forgery. He had been placed on probation in 2005 for the offense for using a woman’s automatic teller card and cashing her checks without her permission for a total of $4,926. In December 2007, he admitted he violated his probation by consuming a controlled painkiller and failing to report regularly to his probation officer or inform him he had changed employment.

URobert Mainor, 31, formerly of Dutch Lane, Hermitage, and now an inmate at the State Correctional Facility at Camp Hill on another conviction, was placed on two years probation consecutive to all other sentences for hindering apprehension for prosecution, a misdemeanor, in connection with the Jan. 15, 2008, theft of a $2,000 large screen television from Rex Appliance, 579 S. Hermitage Road, Hermitage.

UShayna Williams, 23, of Dwyer Court, Greenville, was placed on one year’s probation for possession of drug paraphernalia, a misdemeanor. She was apprehended Aug. 5, 2007, on Old Carlisle Road, Pymatuning Township, with rolling papers, a grinder, a straw and seven metal picks.

UMelanie Zoccole, 45, formerly of Erie and now of the State Correctional Institute in Cambridge Springs, was sentenced to nine to 15 months in prison for felony burglary, to be served concurrently with other sentences she is serving. She broke into the White Chapel United Methodist Church, 415 New Castle-Mercer Road, Wilmington Township, in December 2004 and did $320 worth of damage.
