Fred Perry Motorcycle Run to benefit children set for Aug. 17

AUSTINTOWN — The 18th annual Fred Perry Benefit Motorcycle Run for Kids is set to take place Aug. 17 starting at Mike’s Lounge, 5532 Mahoning Ave.

Since 1990, the Fred Perry Benefit has donated money to local children in need with the money raised from the motorcycle ride.

The registration fee is $10 per person and riders can sign up from 10 a.m. to noon the day of the benefit or through preregistration, which can be done at Warren Harley Davidson, 2102 Elm Road, Bazetta; Youngstown Harley Davidson, 4478 Boardman-Canfield Road, Canfield; and Mike’s Lounge.

Routes for the ride are given out the day of the benefit and the first bike out will start at 1 p.m. Riders make stops along the way and pick up playing cards to create a poker hand.

There will be prizes, raffles, entertainment and trophies for those in the largest motorcycle group and to the rider with the best poker hand.
