Rev. Gwen Alexander to pastor Solid Rock

YOUNGSTOWN — The Rev. Gwen Alexander will be installed as pastor of Solid Rock Interdenominational Church, Canfield Road, Austintown, during a service at 4 p.m. Sunday at Phillips Memorial Missionary Baptist Church, 1407 Victor Ave., where she is an associate minister.

The Rev. Mrs. Alexander has been an associate minister at Phillips since 2003. She was ordained Oct. 29, 2006.

She is employed as special projects coordinator at Associated Neighborhood Centers McGuffey Centre.

Mrs. Alexander is a graduate of American Baptist Theological Seminary, Youngstown Extension Unit of Nashville, Tenn. She is enrolled at Covington Theological Seminary in Rossville, Ga.

She is married to the Rev. Larry Alexander, pastor of Phillips Memorial. They have three children.
