BOARDMAN — The First Friday Club of Greater Youngstown will meet July 10 at Antone’s Banquet Centre, Market Street. The date was changed because of the July 4 holiday.

Featured speaker will be Bob Kloos, co-founder and director of Beacon Street Performing Arts Ministry in Cleveland. His topic will be “Inspiration for the Life of Faith.” The luncheon is from 11:30 a.m. to 1 p.m. and the cost is $15. Registration is requested by July 3. Praise, worship concert

CAMPBELL — The Pastors Aide of Faith Temple Missionary Baptist Church will host the annual praise and worship concert at 4 p.m. Sunday. The theme is “Let everything that has breath praise the Lord praise ye the Lord” from Psalm 150:6. There will be testimonies and singing. Other praise team, choirs or soloists may participate.

EAST PALESTINE — The Rev. Richard Fruit, who retired after 38 years at Lake Milton Presbyterian Church, will be guest pastor at the 10:30 a.m. service Sunday at First United Presbyterian Church, 109 W. Rebecca St.

Pastors’ anniversary

LOWELLVILLE — Pastors David and Kathie Thomas will be recognized for 30 years of service at Victory Christian Center, Route 422, during services at 9 and 11 a.m.

Ordination ceremony

YOUNGSTOWN — An ordination ceremony is planned for minister Joyce Boudrey at 4 p.m. June 29 at Union Baptist Church, 528 Lincoln Ave. Ledra Green and Michael Williams will deliver their first sermons. Michael H. Harrison Sr. is pastor.

St. John the Baptist Mass

CAMPBELL — A Mass in honor of St. John the Baptist is planned for noon Sunday at St. Rose of Lima Church, 394 Tenney Ave. Another Mass will take place at 5:30 p.m. at St. Patrick Church, 1420 Oak Hill Ave., Youngstown, followed by a bonfire with burning of broken and worn-out religious articles.

Super Saturday for kids

BOARDMAN — A free Prince Caspian Super Saturday is planned from 10 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. at St. James Episcopal Church, 7640 Glenwood Ave. The event for children who have completed kindergarten through fifth grade will include storytelling, games, crafts and a discussion. Lunch will be provided.

Prince Caspian Super Saturday is based upon the novel “Prince Caspian” (The Chronicles of Narnia Series) by C.S. Lewis. Children participating in the event should have read the book or have seen the movie. To register, call the church at (330) 758-2727 by Monday.

Youth Day planned

CAMPBELL — The Northeast Ohio District Young People Institute will observe its annual Youth Day at 11 a.m. June 28 at Mount Olive Fire Baptized Holiness Church, 124 W. Marion Ave. There will be skits on the theme, “Facing the Giants in Your Life,” a Bible “feud” and jump roping contest.

The institute’s motto is “Reach the Unreached and Love the Unloved.” The Rev. Susanette Jones of Columbus is district supervisor and Elder Henry Cobbs, pastor of Mount Olive, is presiding elder.

Outdoor worship service

BOARDMAN — An outdoor worship service is planned at 11 a.m. June 29 at Lockwood United Methodist Church, 4570 Lockwood Blvd. A picnic will be at noon. The congregation will present a “faith skit” at 1:30 p.m. and afternoon activities will be boccie, horseshoes, volleyball, badminton and croquet. Mike McHale is pastor.

Adventure to Africa

NEW CASTLE, Pa. — Katie Movic will chronicle her experiences during her eight-month trip to Swaziland, South Africa, during a program at 7 p.m. Sunday at Calvary Temple at Epworth United Methodist Church, 805 E. Washington St. She is a member of Adventures in Missions, an interdenominational missions organization.

Trip to Soul Circus
