Warren Rotary honors BOE member for service

WARREN – Shari Harrell, a member of the Warren Board of Education, received the Les Stauffer Community Award during the Rotary Club of Warren’s President’s Night Dinner.

Named in memory of Les Stauffer, a 50-year Rotarian, the award honors a non-Rotarian with a long involvement in service to the Warren community.

Harrell spearheaded the capital campaign to purchase and restore the historic Harriet Taylor Upton House, founded and was first president of the Upton Association, served on the board of the Rebecca Williams Community Center, YWCA Warren and Trumbull Memorial Hospital Foundation, and was a regional YWCA vice president.

Mark Curtis was named Distinguished Rotarian, and Michael Bollas was named Rotarian of the Year.
