Foutz sentenced to two years

Adrien Foutz, the 22-year-old Girard woman who rear-ended the cruiser of Austintown Patrolman Ross Linert last November, has pleaded no contest to aggravated vehicular assault and been sentenced to two years in prison.

Foutz, who is seven months pregnant, will report to the Mahoning County Jail June 27 to begin serving the sentence. The accident caused a fire that badly burned the officer.

Kenneth Cardinal, the assistant Mahoning County prosecutor handling the case, said the Linert family wanted to see Foutz serve 18 months in prison.

To make that happen, Mahoning County Common Pleas Court Judge Jack M. Durkin agreed to consider Foutz for judicial release after she has served 18 months.

Foutz read a statement before sentencing which said she has “been doing nothing but praying for [Linert] and your family” since the accident.
