CLUB CALENDAR | Area groups plan events


CLASSES

• Campbell Memorial High School Class of 1945 will meet for lunch at 11:30 a.m. Tuesday at Rusty’s in Boardman. Guests are welcome.

• East High School Alumni will meet at 9 a.m. Tuesday at Denny’s in Boardman.

• Wilson High School Class of 1953 will meet for lunch at 11:30 a.m. Monday at Johnny’s on Market Street. Guests are welcome.

CLUBS

• American Hungarian Club, Donald Avenue, Youngstown, will have a picnic at 5 p.m. Monday at the clubhouse. Members are asked to take a casserole. A business meeting will follow at 7. The Ethnic Festival at Youngstown State University in July will be discussed.

• Hubbard Fortnightly IV will meet for a picnic at 5:30 p.m. Thursday at Harding Park. Members are asked to take a favorite dish; chicken and dessert will be provided by hostesses Beverly Creed and Judy Ruby. A program on container gardening will be presented by Beverly Patrick.

• Mahoning Valley Cribbage Club will meet at 6:30 p.m. Thursday at St. James Church, 7640 Glenwood Ave., Boardman. New players are welcome. For more information, call (330) 757-9503.

• McDonald Parents of Performing Arts will meet at 4 p.m. Wednesday in the senior citizens room at the post office building.

• Warren Women’s Connection will sponsor a “Puttin’ on the Ritz” luncheon from 11:30 a.m. to 1 p.m. July 14 at Aulizio’s Banquet Center, 4395 Youngstown Road. Featured will be a fashion show of formal gowns shown by models of all ages. The speaker will be Judy Pyper, whose theme will be “Freedom Found After Eight-Year Battle with Life-Controlling Issues,” and there will be special music by Debbie Bokish, vocalist. POLITICAL CLUBS

• Girard Men’s Democrat Club will meet at 7:30 p.m. Thursday at the Parkwood Youth Center.

RELIGIOUS GROUPS

• Court Bishop James McFadden 1650, Catholic Daughters of the Americas, will have its final meeting of the year, an indoor picnic, at 1 p.m. Tuesday at The Elmton, 584 5th St., Struthers. Those attending will order from the menu, and guests are welcome. Hostesses are Barbara Rook and the court officers. A brief business meeting will take place after the luncheon. Entertainment will follow. Reservations are to be made by Saturday.

• St. Rose Quilting Group will meet at 10 a.m. Wednesday in the parish house.

SERVICE CLUBS

• Girard-Liberty Kiwanis will meet at 6:30 p.m. Tuesday at The Golf Dome, 1300 N. State St.

• D.A.R.E., a social group for divorced, widowed or separated people, has planned the following: Monday, bike riding on Kirk Road, Austintown, at 6:30 p.m.; Tuesday, dance lessons with Judy Conti at 7 p.m. at Wedgewood Plaza, cost is $5; Wednesday, golf at 6 p.m. at Mill Creek Park short holes on McCollum Road; Thursday, music in Boardman Park at 6:30 p.m.; and June 27, meet at ticket booth at 6:30 p.m. for Scrappers game. • Portage County Chapter 600 ofInternational Parents Without Partners will have its monthly dance from 7:30 to 11:30 p.m. July 5 at the Kent VFW 3703 post home, 500 VFW Parkway, off Stow Road.
