Teen threatened in road-rage incident on U.S. Route 224
BOARDMAN — A Poland teenager told police he was a victim of road rage when another driver pulled a gun on him.
The 17-year-old said he was driving on U.S. Route 224 near East Golf Drive about 12:30 p.m. Wednesday when he passed a pickup truck that was sitting at the entrance of a doctor’s office.
After the vehicle behind the teen’s car let the truck leave the parking lot onto Route 224, the truck driver, a man in his late 40s, pulled up next to the victim and yelled for him to roll down the window. The teen did so, and said the truck driver brandished a handgun and pointed it at him, asking, “What now?” according to police reports.
The victim put his hands up and his passenger ducked down, but neither saw the truck’s license plate number as it did a U-turn and traveled east on Route 224.
