Boardman man charged with receiving stolen property, resisting arrest

BOARDMAN — Police charged a township man with receiving stolen property, resisting arrest and obstructing official business for driving a stolen car and fleeing from officers.

Police were called about 10 a.m. Wednesday to Lockwood Boulevard on a report of a car being driving on its wheel rim. An officer followed gouge marks in the asphalt to driveway where a man, later identified as Ryan Ricciuti, 21, of Spring Park Drive, ran from the car, a police report said.

The car, a purple Ford Probe, had been reported stolen during an aggravated robbery in Youngstown, the report said. Ricciuti ran toward the rear of the Lockwood house where he had pulled into the driveway.

Police yelled for Ricciuti to stop, but he kept running until he reached a metal fence in the backyard of a Rosewood Drive home. He was arrested while trying to cross the fence.
