Resort clubhouse will be setting for event for Savniks

X YOUNGSTOWN — The 50th wedding anniversary of Mr. and Mrs. George Savnik of Youngstown will be celebrated during a brunch June 22 at Pymatuning Valley Resort Clubhouse in Williamsfield.

Invitations for the event were issued by the couple’s five daughters, Anna Galbraith of Struthers, Theresa Cessna of Youngstown, Mariene Goss of Petersburg, Lisa Hippo of Youngstown and Loretta Payne of Poland. There are 13 grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren in the family.

Mr. Savnik and the former Beverly Netroe were united in marriage June 21, 1958, in Winchester, Va. They are members of St. Patrick Church in Youngstown.

Prior to retiring in November 2007, Mrs. Savnik was a press operator with Boardman Molded Products in Boardman.

Mr. Savnik served with the National Guard and was a self-employed carpet layer prior to retiring in 1992.
